Apple mp3 players just keep getting better and better. Take the iPod Nano 8GB Graphite for example.

Now the iPod Nano 8GB Graphite is much more compact than its predecessors. It now sports a multi-touch screen, making it so much easier for the users to view photos, keep track of the playlist, and even listen to FM radio—something that wasn’t readily available in the previous models. Now, these iPod music players can even boast of having the Nike + iPod Sport compatibility.

With the Nike + iPod Sport Compatibility feature, health buffs and even the not so healthy will enjoy their gym sessions when using their iPod Nano 8GB Graphite. All you have to do are: head to the gym, choose your favourite cardio machine that’s compatible to the Nike + iPod feature; connect your gadget to the machine; choose your playlist; and start with your gym session. Once the gym training is over, you can view how well you fared during your training and it’s all thanks to the summary gathered by the Nike + iPod feature.

Next, this mini iPod Nano 8GB Graphite is almost 50% lighter and smaller than the previous mp3 players belonging to the series. However, do not be deceived by its small size. Nonstop playing of 24-hour music is quite possible with this nifty gadget.

Another thing that we like about the iPod Nano 8GB Graphite is that it comes with a clip at the back. This means that you can easily take this Apple mp3 player with you just by clipping it on your shirts or trousers. It gets even better! You are assured that the iPod Nano won’t fall from being clipped.

Another great thing about the iPod products is that it is compatible with both the Mac and even the Windows operating systems. How is this possible? Just download the iTunes program on your notebook or personal computer and you can start syncing the iPod Nano 8GB Graphite with the iTunes program easily. Sharing files, be them songs, videos, or even entire playlists will be as easy as A-B-C. You can even make use of the Genius function for a whole new Nano listening experience. With the Genius feature, a playlist composed of 25 songs complementing each other will be automatically set upon clicking on the Genius icon while a song is playing in the background. You have to agree it’s perfect for coming up with playlists on lazy days, right?

Lastly, the iPod Nano 8GB Graphite is definitely user-friendly. So user-friendly–even those who are visually impaired have the option to change settings to high contrast mode, which will then display white copy on black background. On the other hand, those who may have some hearing difficulties could do well with the mono function, which will then make sure that all audio are transmitted to just one earphone.

Sennheiser RS120 wireless headphones are lightweight. That is the first thing we’ve noticed the first time we got our hands on this product. Putting this on was an even better experience. It felt comfortable on the head, despite its big size.

Putting the Sennheiser RS120 Wireless Headphones to the test, we played variety of music. For its price, overall design and sound quality are excellent. We also tried connecting it to the television and results were pretty good. Sometimes, it feels as if sounds coming from the wireless headphones were even better compared to the television speakers. You got to love that, right? It sucks for the TV though.

Going back, the Sennheiser RS120 Wireless Headphones comes with a transmitter base. Now this base can also be used for charging. You see, the headphones are shipped with a pair of AAA nickel-metal-hydride batteries. All you have to do is to place the metal headphone bands on the metal portion of the rack base. In this position, the batteries that are located in the left headphone are being charged while just hanging on the base. We just got some issues with the space when connecting the power and audio cords to the base. Space was a bit cramped for us, but there won’t be any problems if you have small hands.

Sennheiser RS120 wireless headphones come with the base, power cord, and batteries. However, the adapter, which should be included as per the manual, is not in the box. This is no biggie, unless you’re planning to use the wireless headphones with cd players, computers without the RCA ports, and your mp3 players. We did some research and we aren’t the only ones who encountered this problem. You’re lucky if you have adapters to spare, but it could ruin your day if you badly needed one for your wireless headphones.

The left and right headphones have different knobs on them. As mentioned earlier, batteries go in the left; very easy to insert them, too. You just need to twist off the cushion and have a go at the batteries then. Also, the power switch is located on the same side. However, it has an automatic turn off feature if you aren’t listening to any more music.

On the right side, the volume and the tuner dial. We think it would have been better if they were placed on separate headphones so as not to accidentally adjust the volume when all you wanted to do was fine tune your headset.

For its price, we’d give this headphone a chance. It produces great audio quality at a cheaper cost than other headphones. It being nice to look at doesn’t hurt either.

Here at 24 st we’re all about guitars. We love playing them, buying them, staring at them, and reading about them, and most of all we enjoy learning to play them. That’s right, everyone here agrees that they’re still learning how to play this instrument. Even though we have a combined 82 years playing experience, we’re still learning new techniques every day. That’s what makes playing the guitar so enjoyable!

Computer generated guitar tablature

Probably the best way to learn guitar is by reading tablature or ‘tabs’ from your computer. A Google search for any ‘song + tabs’ will produce hundreds of results, meaning you can learn to play just about any song, free of charge. All it takes is a bit of practise learning the tab (it’s read upside down for starters) and you’ve got free access to literally thousands of songs, including any classic riffs and new age chords!

It should be noted that this form of tablature is a very informal way of learning to play guitar because it can cause problems if you ever decide to read music properly. However, it definately won’t cause problems with the way you play the guitar, so at the end of the day, is reading music really that important?

Installing security systems on large-scale events is a must in every event organizers’ list. Its importance is starting to be a known-fact, since it really helps the prevention of various crimes and accidents. Unfortunately there are still some that overlook this fact.

One of those unfortunate moments happened during the Love Parade last July 24, 2010. Love Parade is an electronic, dance music festival held at Duisburg, Germany. It is one of the oldest and largest electronic musical festivals in the world, attracting various attendees from different parts of Germany and across the globe.

Love Parade had already a number of disturbances under its name, such as robbery, theft, possession of drugs and sexually-related offenses. By this, the organizers have already been expected to tighten their security systems. But they were a disappointment.

For this year, the event was held in an old railway station and can only accommodate less than a million amount of people. However, it was reported that 1.4 million people dropped by the venue. Various security systems experts such as fire service investigators and safety experts had already warned about the site, that it could not contain such a massive amount of people.

Even though they have been warned beforehand, the organizers still continued the event because they are scared that it will create more panic if they will make the attendees aware of it. Unfortunately, those attendees near the entrance tunnel started to experience suffocation which caused more chaos.

The lack of security systems and preparations from the organizers’ end resulted to the deaths of 21 people and injuries of more than 500 people. Because of what happened, Rainer Schaller, the festival’s organizer, has announced that the parade will be permanently cancelled.

Proper security systems should have prevented this tragedy to happen. If only they had installed enough surveillance cameras and alarms, such accidents will never take place. Public and private authorities should learn a lesson from such unfortunate events.

Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour and Roger Waters put their differences aside to perform on stage for charity.

The musicians, who fell out in the early 1980s, performed at a fundraising event of 200 guests hosted by Jemima Khan to help Palestinian children.

The pair performed a trio of Floyd tracks – Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb and chart-topping single Another Brick In The Wall (Part Two) – as well as the Phil Spector song To Know Him Is To Love Him. Gilmour and Waters were joined by Guy Pratt on bass and acoustic guitar, Harry Waters and Jonjo Grisdale on keyboards, Andy Newmark on drums and Chester Kamen on guitar.

The last time Gilmour and Waters shared a stage was when Pink Floyd briefly reunited for a one-off performance at Live 8 in Hyde Park five years ago.

But the duo ruled out further shows despite lucrative offers to tour in the US.

The performance by the bass player and guitarist was for the Hoping Foundation (Hoping stands for Hope and Optimism for Palestinians in the Next Generation), organised by Bella Freud.

More than £350,000 was raised for the charity at the event at Kiddington Hall in Oxfordshire on Saturday.

Waters is to revisit the band’s The Wall album for a North American tour from September with shows in the UK next year. Sadly the Wall Tour will not include the David Gilmour which will begin on September 15th in Toronto.

Born June 18, 1942, Sir James Paul McCartney, MBE, is a British bassist, singer, and songwriter, who first came to prominence as a member of The Beatles. Originally joining the band as a guitarist, he took over bass guitar duties after the departure of Stu Sutcliffe. Despite never learning how to read music, McCartney became one of the most creative and influential rock bassists, elevating the electric bass from back-row obscurity to prominence and inspiring many to take up the instrument. By 1965 McCartney was pressuring the engineers at EMI to get a better bass sound on Beatles recordings, frustrated by the relatively weak sound on their earlier records. McCartney would go on to become wildly successful after the Beatles breakup. His song, Yesterday, has become an icon, with more than 3,000 known recorded versions.

“Something More” is an apt title for Buster Williams’ ensemble. Among the busiest and most prolific of modern bassists, Williams has always been more than a sideman, from his early days with Jimmy Heath, Gene Ammons, and Sonny Stitt (all before age 20), to his alliance with such vocalists as Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, and Betty Carter, to his work on projects as diverse as the Jazz Crusaders, Herbie Hancock’s Mwandishi Band, and Sphere with T.S. Monk. In addition to his numerous supporting roles, Williams has also shone as a frequently-recorded leader and composer. On June 23-24, Williams brings his latest version of Something More, in quintet format, to Sweet Rhythm in Greenwich Village.

“Once upon a time there was a guy called Harvie, who may have had a longer surname than S. (although there was a President whose diplomatic parents gave him only a middle initial, to avoid annoying relatives each with a name beginning S—, and to name their son after both). Harvie may have agreed with the late great Doc Cheatham that the ntegration of Latin American rhythmic complexity was an avenue along which jazz could be taken to its betterment. In any event, that is what Harvie did, incorporating also, courtesy of his pianist Daniel Kelly, a witty use of the multifingered piano style (one man piano duet) which can be heard on old Latin recordings. Kelly avoids stock cliché-ed passagework by being lightly comical with some extravagances.”
